A message from our principal...
Jena Elementary School is a wonderful place for
children to learn! Staffed with dedicated administrators, teachers, support personnel and paraprofessionals who care
about students, our school is the largest Pre-K to third grade school in LaSalle Parish. Our
school mission simply states that all students can learn, and we strive daily to ensure our
mission is accomplished!
Jena Elementary students have access to computer lab, library, PE and music classes,
each with a certified instructor. Every classroom is equipped with computers and learning
manipulatives that students utilize throughout the day. tutors and teachers aides provide
individual assistance in curriculum areas of concern, and teachers utilize hands-on activities
and small grouping in an effort to reach every child. Teachers also participate in grade level
meetings and various staff developments throughout the school year and summer to bring
new and exciting learning opportunities to their students. Science Days and Family Nights
are scheduled during the academic year to engage parents and students in learning
encounters. Most importantly, our staff values each child and it shows in the classrooms, the
halls, the cafeteria and on the playgrounds.
We feel our school is a positive place that students and staff enjoy coming to each day.
Through teamwork and community cooperation, we continually strive to ensure that all of our
students are successful!
