Third Grade Spelling Bee

May 2, 2008 the Jena Elementary School ’s Third Grade Spelling Bee program encountered many wonderful spellers. Although there can only be one first, second, and third place winners, everyone did a wonderful job. We know that just to stand in front of their peers takes a lot of courage, so everyone started out a winner.

Our winners (left to right) for the Third Grade Spelling Bee are:

1st place: Brooklyn Smith

2nd place: Alexis Lapraine

     3rd place: Jennifer Wilkinson

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society recently hosted its annual LaSalle Parish Spelling Bee for the third graders. There were thirty contestants representing the elementary schools from across the parish. The winners are shown above: Kate Dickson from Jena Elementary, first place winner; Aubrey Helton from Olla Elementary, second place winner; and  another student from Jena Elementary that is not able to be shown won third place. We want to congratulate all three winners but are especially pound of Kate and our other student.
